Blondie
Blondie is an American rock band formed in New York City in 1974 by singer-songwriter Debbie Harry and guitarist Chris Stein. The band’s first two albums, Blondie (1976) and Plastic Letters (1978), were commercially successful in the United States and Australia. They attracted the attention of British musician Nigel Harrison, who joined the band as bassist in 1975. The group’s third album, Parallel Lines (1978), reached number one in the United Kingdom and established Blondie as an international act.
During the 1980s and early 1990s, Blondie had multiple lineup changes and achieved renewed success with their album The Hunter (1982). The band’s tenth and final studio album, Ghosts of Download (2014), was released to positive reviews. Blondie has sold 40 million records worldwide and is still active today.
